SterlingandPearls.com has taken measures to ensure that our children's jewelry is lead free. We use the following SAFE materials to construct our jewelry for girls and babies. WE DO NOT USE Swarovski Crystals in our baby and children's name bracelet jewelry, because their crystals contain 30% - 40% lead ! Our precious children and babies need to be protected from lead poisoning. Unfortunately, our Government has not done a great job of doing this. As parents, we must heighten our awareness on this ever so important issue. Lead is a metal and that is poisonous and toxic to people, especially children, when it is ingested. It is no longer used as a gasoline additive, or in lead paint, but it does continue to be used in many products After being ingested, lead enters the bloodstream and is absorbed and stored in many tissues and organs in the body, including the liver, kidneys, brain, teeth and bones. High levels can cause serious health problems in your children and can affect almost every organ system of the body, causing many different symptoms. Genuine Pearls, Sterling Silver 925, and Czech Crystals. We do not use the ever so popular Swarovski Crystals in our Children's and baby jewelry creations because they contain 30% lead. While it would not affect an adult, it would affect a child. Czech Crystals are from the Czech Republic and are completely lead free. If you see this notice: California Residents: Proposition 65 WARNING, it means that the retailer is in California, and legally they HAVE to tell you if there is lead content. However, many in CA do not do it. The other 49 states don't have any protection. There are hundreds of websites and stores that sell lead jewelry or the Swarovski Crystals in their baby and Children's jewelry, and they do not notify the consumer. Why aren't they telling consumers? Here we will list updates and recalls on children's Jewelry for you.
